To support maximum effectiveness and depth for your learning, the Heaven Man Earth system offers the benefit of both online materials and in-person practice. Your commitment is only one-month but we are confident with practice you will notice positive changes in your mind and body.
Taijiquan or Taiji for short (Tai Chi Chuan) is considered a ‘soft’ or ‘internal martial art’ and relies on the principles of correct postural alignment and genuine relaxation or song (release) to produce power. Whilst immensely dynamic in practice and application, in modern times Tai Chi is practiced predominantly for its robust health benefits and is famous for its solo form practice, characterised by slow fluid movements.
In these 5 sessions you will learn a basic body opening set that you can practice in 15 minutes daily, which will begin to create the foundation for your body transformation and greater health. You will learn the importance of correct structure and begin to retrain your nervous system to support this. With correct structure you can then work on saturating your mind in order to command relaxation. This is an active process you do to check into your body, not a guided meditation where you check out. Finally you will learn simple but profound exercises to train you how to move from release (song) rather than contraction.
If you get through that, there may be some simple partner exercises so you can experience how you are doing from the perspective of ‘another’. These foundational exercises are essential to proper practice of the Form or ‘dance’ that is often associated with Taiji, which is introduced only after the standing nei-gong and song-gong sets have been introduced.
